Battery Management System |
—— Battery Management System Abstract
The battery management system (BMS) monitors the status of each single battery in the battery pack, manages the use process of the battery pack, and maintains the state consistency of the single battery in the battery pack, so as to ensure the battery safety and improve the battery life. All electric vehicles (including pure electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles) are equipped with BMS, and BMS has become one of the key components of modern electric vehicles.
—— The Main Function Of Battery Management
• Collection of voltage, current and temperature signals of battery
• Estimation of SOC / health state of battery
• Intelligent charging control
• Insulation resistance detection
• Over current, over voltage and over heated protection
• Collection of total voltage and current signal of battery pack
• Balance of battery cell
• Bus power pre charging control
• Battery pack thermal management
—— Architecture Of Battery Management System
The BMS system of electric vehicle is composed of Battery Management Unit, Cell Supervision Circuit, Current Voltage Sensor. The connection mode is a main control module (BMU) + several monomer acquisition modules (CSC) + a high voltage current acquisition module (CVS). The communication between BMU and (CSC) is via daisy chain, and the communication with (CVS) is via can. The master-slave BMS is flexible in layout, convenient for maintenance, and suitable for all kinds of pure electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles.
